About My Wyvern Story
A record of a special time in broadcast history, by those who were there!.
Five years ago on the anniversary of Radio Wyverns 30th Birthday, there was a Radio Wyvern reunion at the Talbot in Barbourne and many old faces got together across the day thanks to Allan Clarke and a few others and many happy yarns were told and shared. Many people wanted to be there who for a whole variety of reasons couldn’t make it. So as the 35th anniversary loomed I thought it might be a nice idea to create a blog website to share our memories, photos, airchecks, videos etc. After talking to Rob Yarnold, Stephanie Bilton, Muff Murfin and Graham Hughes all agreed it was a good idea and here we are with site finally live.
This has been a very enjoyable, labour of love and I have a lot of assetts to get posted on line over the coming weeks. So do keep checking back, and if you have anythiong you can contribute to the archive do please send them over to me. I have been lent a lot of pictures and I am slowly scanning and getting them ready for the site. If there is a picture of you that you would prefer not to be on the site just drop me a line.
So thank you for the massive support and encouragement so far, I do hope you enjoy the look back at this exciting, fascinating and special time in radio history as we all read together the individual Wyvern stories from those who were there. If you were there yourself for a week, month year or many, many years please do get your story and any photos you may still have to me so that I can add them onto the site. I am trying to make all the additions to the site as blog posts which you are most welcome to add additional memories to the stories.
Happy reading, Was it really 35 years ago?
